Our security principles
Kovo Credit handles sensitive financial information. We take security as seriously as the trust you've placed in us. Our practices are organized around four principles: minimize what we collect, encrypt everything, verify every access, and continuously test.
Encryption
In transit: 256-bit SSL/TLS 1.2+ encryption on every page
At rest: Sensitive fields (SSN, account numbers) encrypted with AES-256
Backups: Encrypted with separate key management
Access controls
Role-based access — employees only see data required for their job function
Mandatory multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all employee access
All access logged and reviewed quarterly
Vendor access limited to specific contracted purposes
Compliance frameworks
SOC 2 Type II-aligned data handling practices
PCI DSS compliance for any payment card data
GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act) safeguards program
FTC Safeguards Rule compliance
Breach history
Kovo Credit has not had to notify consumers of a data breach. If a reportable incident ever occurred, we would notify affected members within the timeframes required by state law — and in most cases faster.
How to spot phishing claiming to be Kovo Credit
Kovo Credit will never:
Ask for your full Social Security Number by email or text
Ask for your bank account password
Threaten account closure if you don't respond within hours
Request payment via gift card, cryptocurrency, or wire transfer
Send unsolicited "loan approval" messages before you applied
Legitimate Kovo Credit emails come from the kovocreditusa.com domain. When in doubt, log in to your account directly at kovocreditusa.com rather than clicking a link.
