A realistic month-by-month timeline — not the marketing version.
How fast Kovo Credit works depends on one big factor: whether you already have a credit file. Thin-file members tend to see faster, larger gains in the first six months than members rebuilding from a damaged file. Both move, but the shapes of the curves are different.
You enroll in the Kovo Credit Builder and make your first on-time payment. Kovo Credit submits the tradeline update to the major U.S. consumer bureaus. Each bureau processes on its own schedule, so TransUnion® may show the account a few days before Equifax® — this is normal.
If you had no scorable credit file before, you now have one open tradeline. Once you hit the six-month-of-activity threshold required by FICO®, your first FICO® score generates — typically in the mid-600s if payments are on time.
Each on-time monthly payment adds a positive data point. For thin files, this is the fastest-growth phase. Typical 90-day gains in our member data: +30 to +60 FICO® points for members starting from a thin file; +10 to +30 points for rebuilders.
The average age of accounts starts to help your score. Add a second tradeline here (a secured card, or a Kovo Credit partner personal loan) and the credit-mix factor kicks in too.
Many members who started in the sub-600 range are in the mid-to-high 600s by month 12 — the threshold that unlocks mainstream unsecured credit cards, better auto loan APRs, and competitive personal loans.
Credit building is a stacking game. One brick a month, placed on time, for twelve months. Nothing you do speeds up the "on time" part — but a lot of things you can accidentally do slow it down.
